Issues with Transparent and Cloudy Plastics

Hi guys,

What are the best ways to troubleshoot or avoid issues like these in renders when using transparent shaders.  I'm mostly referring to the black areas that are glitching on the lighting bolts by her hands.

Thanks Erik,

I seem to have sorted it by rebuilding the skin shader.  The plastic was only behaving this way when I cranked up the brightness or contrast too much on the spec and glossmaps for the skin in the shader.  Looked ok on the skin, but seemed to cause issues with the bolts.  I started editing those maps in photoshop instead and the issue seems to have gone.  I'm also playing with the samples as you recommend.

Cheers,

Hec

Hello Hector,

Thank you for contacting Luxion.
How many samples are you taking when rendering?
From the screenshot it looks as if only 29 samples have been registered.
For the number of triangles and curves I would suggest at least 100 samples.

Let me know if increasing your sample size helps.
