trying to get in to GPU rendering. but I have old 1080and it just wount run in gpu mod.
since the new RTX3000 cards came out, Iv been thinking about upgreading.
Im just windering do I need RTX3090 with 24G Vram? or can I get away with RTX3080 with 10G? I know 3080 is about 20% slower on paper. what I m worry about is the Vram usage. considering Im doing sonmething big and complicated.
My stuff usually takes about 15G-20G ram on cpu mod.

Hello Gengran,
Thank you for contacting Luxion.
More often than not, bigger is better. A 20% difference is not factor in smaller projects, but if you are rendering something that will take a day to render then all of a sudden 24 hours turns into 26.
To error on the side of caution, I would recommend the 3090.
