AR Export issue

Hi there,

Loving the AR export feature in Keyshot 10 but having had success with many models I am having issues getting larger models to work. Is the there a physical maximum size you can export (not file size)?

The model is relatively complex (injection moulding machine) but I am exporting at 2 DPI and 16 samples to test before exporting a much higher resolution. It creates a file that 4mb in size but I can't open this file on an Apple device for some reason. Are there any troubleshooting guides?

Hello Ben,

Thank you for contacting Luxion.
There is a physical cap that can be hit, I wouldn't be able to give exact numbers but it is dependent on file size, triangle count, materials used, scale/dimensions and DPI.  If your scene is very complex the USDZ file might be to complex to open.

Without seeing the scene it is hard to tell.
If you would like to send the scene to us for some testing we would be happy to look in to this further for you.

Please send us your scene as a ksp file.

To save a ksp file:
  1. Open your scene.
  2. Go to File > Save Package.
  3. Name your file.
  4. Include Ticket number.

You may send it securely via our WeTransfer

Hi Justin - thanks for such a fast reply :) I had assumed there would be a limit. Great to know that's a file size limit based on complexity as opposed to a physical size limit though. I have attached the model in questions. It's all simple toon materials. Happy to loose some of the detail if needed (i.e. can delete the plant pot models if needed). Would be great to get some feedback as to what might be possible here :)

hello?

Hey Ben,

Sorry it has been a busy week with our latest release.

I have had the chance to test the file and this specific file does hit the cap of export compatibility.

As a test I slowly tried to remove pieces of the model to see at what point it will allow export ( just as a test)

and I had to reduce the model down significantly before the export was completed.

Short answer is that sadly this scene is just to heavy for the export feature to work.

If possible I would like to share this scene with my Development team internally.  It would not be shared outside our internal testing.

Thanks for your patience on this.

Thanks for getting back to me - totally understand how busy you must be with the update just released. More than happy for you to share this model with your team. I knew this model would likely be too heavy and it was really just a test. Our hope was to use it to communicate at 1:1 scale our ambitions for our business to investors and customers on social
