So, this is a very strange bug that I’ve not ever encountered before in my fifteen years of Keyshot use. For some reason Keyshot (I’m running 11.2.1 Pro) keeps dumping material folders inside other material folders. With over ten years of continuous use, I have developed a hefty amount of my own materials and for simplicity I keep these in the ‘Migrated’ folder as, that way I know that each new version of Keyshot will automatically import them. At the present time I’m getting a weird bug where the ‘Migrated’ folder keeps being hidden in other material’s folders or sub-folders. The chain of events typically goes; 1) I drag and drop a material on to a model. 2) the material palette switches to another folder (this appears totally random) and the ‘Migrated’ folder disappears on the folder structure panel. If I now do a search for a material I know is in the ‘Migrated’ folder, it will return the material and any similar search results and I can locate the folder by hovering over the material and noting the file path. Typically, it will have moved the whole folder into a sub-section of another material type so, for example, I might find the ‘Migrated’ folder in the ‘Plastic’ folder or as a sub-folder in ‘Glass’. There appears to be no logic behind where it ends up, it’s like playing ‘Hide and Seek’. Any ideas?
I've had and am having that problem too. KS10 seemed much better with it.
My old workaround was to search on the material to reveal where it was hidden and then drag it back to the correct location.
This time, the search function in the materials library is also not working correctly, so it's a manual operation to hunt through the menus to find the lost listings. This has been keeping me from switching over to KS11. (11.3.1)
