Plugin for Rhino 7 is not working (Keyshot 11)

Hey :)

Eventhough it shows the buttons properly nothing happens when I press them.

Could it be that it is not working with Rhino 7 yet?

I tried unistalling and installing several times, restarting the pc and updating Rhino also had no effect.

Can anyone tell me if this combination is working for someone?

Those are my Keyshit Infos:

Please ignore that very unfortunate typo :D

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for contacting Luxion Denmark Support.
If using a Windows machine, press the Windows key and enter 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.
After opening the Registry Editor, browse to either:
  • Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Luxion\KeyShot 11
  • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Luxion\KeyShot 11

Confirm that the Resources lead to the same file-path as ResourceFolder.
If not, you can edit this by right-clicking on Resources and selecting 'modify'.

Let me know if this solves the problem.

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for contacting Luxion Denmark Support.
Are the paths linked in any way to a One-Drive or shared network folder?
If so this could be the cause as well.

First, lets check if you have the latest KeyShot to Rhino plugin installed.
You may need to uninstall the older plugins you have for say, KeyShot 10 to Rhino 6.
You can download the latest version of the plugin at https://manual.keyshot.com/plugins/manual/rhinoceros/.

Next, check those Resource folder file paths again.
If they are linked to a shared network drive, try the guide at Issues when Installing KeyShot to a Network Drive to configure your folders and file paths.

Let me know what happens.

Hi Erik,

Thanks for the response, I deleted all Keyshot Plugin Folders. Still the Plugin shows up when opening Rhino. Somehow this Folder in %AppData% keeps installing itself after starting Rhino :

I followed those steps trying to delete it:

Regarding the OneDrive: The Resources are stored in a One Drive Folder I guess:

But part of those Folders are "always available on this device", i will apply this to the whole document Folder, lets see if that helps.

But this probably doesn´t explain the selfi-installing Plugin.

BR/Sebastian

I got it unistalled and installed the Keyshot Plugin via the Link you provided, now it says Keyshot 11 instead of Keyshot 9 in the %appdata%.

Now also when clicking the button in Rhino I don´t get the "unknownCommand" message, so thats better but still Keyshot doesn´t open when clicking it.

But the installation happened locally, i was reading through the second Link you provided. Here is my Installation Path:

Hello Basti,

Do you have KeyShot 9 installed as well and has this folder been deleted successfully?
If you do, check the Registry Editor again and check the file paths again for KeyShot 9 and KeyShot 11.
What do they say?

If you are comfortable with it, uninstall KeyShot 9 to make sure everything points to KeyShot 11 as it should.

Hello Basti,

Thank you for contacting Luxion Denmark Support.
Okay but it looks like your Resource folders are still linked to OneDrive.
Do a fresh installation to a local drive.
The guide at Issues when Installing KeyShot to a Network Drive will help you configure your installation so that you can get around this issue.
